...Live from Oregon...

Marc and I covered some major ground today. We got up super early to catch the 10:30am ferry from Victoria to Port Angeles, Washington. We were told that this tends to fill up fast, so we were there for 7:30am just to make sure that we would get on it. We parked the Mustang and then walked up to grab some breakfast and some internet time...just enough for Marc to check auto trader and then back to the car...

The ferry ride was...boring for me. Marc read the whole time (thumbs up!), and I, well...didn't read. I fell asleep on Marc, watched some whales from the ferry, then we were docking in Washington.

We made a realization about the state of Washington. Everyone must live in Seattle, or they are Native. There is NO NORMAL CIVILIZATION anywhere. Period. Only way-to-slow speed limits according to Marc. Mustang ran like a top...SO, we drove through Washington, with the exception of a sandwhich making stop at Ruby Beach, which Marc almost made into a road side business, selling them to other tourists for $5. No one bought. Ruby Beach was beautiful! We met the local family of slugs...adopted one and named it Ruby! (left it there though, don't get exctied! No room for hitch hikers.)

Now we're parked in Astoria/Seaside, Oregon in a KOA cabin. We had a diner of kabobs and sausages bought from the local SAFEWAY. After a wrestle with the wet lumber, Marc got a fire going...and we drank till I petered out, which never takes long. Marc was disappointed he only got 4 mini-beers and a cooler in him. Oh well, there are other things to look forward to.

...with the hum of the cooler in the background...we're thankful for power and wireless internet...off to see more of Oregon tomorrow...some KOA...somewhere...oh my.
